Margaret Opal Jean Davis departed this world the evening of Monday, April 12, 2010
in Olympia, Washington to join her beloved spouse of over 60 years, Robert Paul 'Bob' Davis who died April 12, 2006.

Born April 26, 1923 in Carthage, Indiana, Margaret was the youngest of the four children of Rev. Arthur and Zetta (Jenkins) Jean.

Margaret graduated from the Curtis-Wright Cadet aeronautical engineering program at the University of Minnesota in 1943. She worked at Curtiss-Wright in Columbus, Ohio, during World War II specializing in the wing configuration of the SB2C airplane.

On August 28, 1945, she married her college sweetheart, Bob , at Whiting Field in Milton, Florida. Margaret and Bob moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1946 where they raised their family of three children. She was a devoted wife and mother, an active member and former president of the Weavers Guild of Cincinnati, a Cub Scout and Camp Fire Girls leader.

Margaret returned to college and in 1972 graduated from Edgecliff College with a degree in education. She obtained her Masters in Special Education from the University of Cincinnati and taught at Mt. Airy Elementary School until her retirement in 1984.

In the fall of 1984, Margaret and Bob moved from Cincinnati to Hood Canal in Union, Washington where she joined the Olympia Weavers Guild and pursued her lifetime interests of spinning, weaving, photography, hiking and developed a new proficiency of wood carving.

Margaret joined the Lacey Sunrise Lions in 2006. Known to the members as "Mom" she tried her hand at sorting glasses, participated in the "Any Soldier Project" earning her the District Governor's "Spirit of Courage" award. In recognition of her lifelong work with children, including Boy Scouts of America and Camp Fire Girls, her concern to prevent blindness and her ongoing support of the American Cancer Society's Relay For Life, she received The Lions International humanitarian honor of becoming a Melvin Jones Fellow.

Her abundant creativity, wit, wisdom, love of wildflowers, birds, and kindheartedness to animals especially "A Sweetie" are unrivaled.
