Charles Colburn, 68, died at Treasure Coast Hospice. He was born in Bridgeport, CT and lived in Vero Beach for 17 years before moving to Fort Pierce in 2007.

He was a Marine Corps veteran. He was of the Catholic faith.

SERVICES: A service with military honors will be at 10a Aug. 22 at Veterans Memorial Island in Vero Beach with the Rev. Bob Whitley officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3918, Vero Beach. Arrangements are by Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory in Vero Beach. FORT PIERCE, Fla. - Charles Dexter Colburn, 68, of Fort Pierce, FL, died Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2009, at Treasure Coast Hospice.

He was born April 15, 1941, in Bridgeport, CT, and had been a resident of Vero Beach for 17 years before moving to Fort Pierce in 2007. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps, was of Catholic faith and was an avid fisherman.

He is survived by his children, Charles Colburn of North Carolina, Jeffery Colburn of Virginia, Michael Colburn of Seymour, CT, William Colburn of Oxford, CT, Cathi Colburn of Seymour, CT, Brandi Parlor of Sebastian, FL, Aimee Cablish of Fort Pierce, FL and Carlaine Colburn of Vero Beach, FL. He is also survived by two sisters, Elmora Colburn of Connecticut, Myrtle Allen of Vero Beach, FL and 14 grandchildren.

A service with military honors will be held 10 a.m. today at Veteran's Memorial Island, Vero Beach, with Rev. Bob Whitley officiating. Military honors provided by the V.F.W. Post 3918, Vero Beach, FL.

Donations may be made to Treasure Coast Hospice, 2500 Virginia Ave., Suite 202, Ft. Pierce, FL 34981.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Thomas S. Lowther Funeral Home and Crematory, Vero Beach.
