Paulina Capps was born near Tuscumbia, Mo., October 31, 1857 and departed this life in ST. Louis, Mo., December 17, 1943 being at the time of her death 86 years, one month and 17 days of age. She lived practically all her life in Miller County where she was born and where family ties and friendships were formed.

On November 22, 1876, she was united in marriage to Allen W. Burnett and to this union were born nine children, eight of whom are still living. They are: Mrs. C.P. Flaugher and Mrs. Nelson Davenport of Tuscumbia; Mrs. P.B. Wyrick of Jefferson City, Mo.; Mrs. M.E. Sooter of Rolla, Mo.; Cordell, Charles and Ben of Granite City, Ill.; and Claud of ST. Louis. The youngest son, Halleck, preceded his mother in death by three and one-half years. She also leaves her loving companion to mourn her going and to miss her tender care. Besides these there are 45 grandchildren, 54 great-grandchildren and a host of other relatives and dear friends who will remember her in love and grieve because of her going.

In early life she made a profession of faith in Christ and united with the Christian (now the Congregational-Christian) Church and lived a devoted Christian life in that church to the end.

Funeral services conducted by Rev. Warren E. Burd of Iberia, were held Monday afternoon, Dec. 20, from the Mt. Zion Church near Tuscumbia, and burial was in the church cemetery under direction of the Adams & Casey Funeral Home of Iberia.
