NETTLETON - Vina Elizabeth Pruitt Gist, 87, died Friday, Aug. 31, 2007, at her daughter's home in Nettleton after a long illness. She was born Jan. 6, 1920, in Itawamba County to William and Nannie Estes Pruitt. A native of Itawamba County, she had lived in Nettleton for the past 46 years. She was a retired factory worker and a member of Evergreen Church of the Lord Jesus Christ. She enjoyed raising chickens and working in her garden.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Chapel of Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Nettleton with Bro. Robert Maxey and the Rev. Horace Barnes officiating. Burial will be in Butler Cemetery in Itawamba County.

Survivors include three daughters, Betty Worthey (James Albert) and Bonnie Guess (Jerry), both of Nettleton, and Juanita Anthony (Vance) of Tupelo; three sons, William H. Gist (Linda), Clyde Gist and Jimmy Ray Gist (Winnie), all of Nettleton; one sister, Almie Pruitt of Nettleton; 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren; her niece and caregiver, Nellie Hargett.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Amos R. Gist; her parents; four sisters; and two brothers.

Pallbearers will be Randy Comer, Marty Comer, Darrell Guess, Chris Gist, Kevin Gist and Cory Gist.
