A native of Natchez, Miss., and a resident of Baton Rouge, she died Monday, June 9, 2008, at Ollie Steele Burden Manor. She was 75 and a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She was a graduate of LSU and attended Barry College in Miami. Visitation at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette Ave., on Friday, June 13, from 9 a.m. until a memorial Mass at 10 a.m. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, J. Peyton Parker Jr.; two daughters, Sharon Talley and her husband, Patrick Talley, of New Orleans, and Deborah Gibbs and her husband, Vance Gibbs, of Baton Rouge; a son, Peyton R. Parker and his wife, Judi, of Ashland City, Tenn.; a sister, Eleanor Byrne Merrill, of Sarasota, Fla.; two brothers, Donald Byrne and his wife, Barbara, of Natchez, and Richard Byrne and his wife, Sandra, of Crockett, Texas; eight grandchildren, Elisa Gibbs, Parker Gibbs, Martha Gibbs, Sarah Ilene Talley, Patrick Talley III, Peyton Joseph Talley, Peyton Aaron Parker and Jessie Parker; and a great-granddaughter, Sadie Parker. Preceded in death by a daughter, Eleanor Celeste Parker. The family would like to thank all of her attending doctors, especially Dr. Roy Kadair, and the doctors, nurses, and caregivers at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, Vital Source Hospital and Hospice of Baton Rouge.
