Mr. Doty was born in Berger County , New Jersey, October 30, 1830 and came to Miama county, Kansas in 1854.

Here he was married to Miss Lodiska Husted and to this union nine children were born, two of whom died in infancy (1) (2).

The surviving children are Leander Doty of Simpson; Edward H. of Greely, Colorado; Mrs. Delila Beers and Mrs. Nellie Dildine both of Caldwell, Idaho; Mrs. Alice Minnick of La Grange, Indiana; Mrs. Anna Cables of Logan, Oklahoma; and Mrs Sophrona Mynatt also of Calwell, Idahol In 1878, Mr. Henry S Doty moved with his family to Cloud County and home-steaded six mile north of Glasco near the Rangeline school house where he lived for wtenty years. In 1914 he moved with his oldes son to Caldwell, Idaho where he made his home with daughter Mrs. Ce. E. Beers till the Lord in his tender mercy looked down from heaven and said, "It's enough, come home" and took him on April 7, 1924 at the age of 93 years, 5 months and 7 days. While he had reached a ripe old age and all knew the end would soom come yet it cams as a shock as his last sickness was only one day just previous to which he was unusually well for one of his agel The three daughter of calwell were by his side at the last. Mr. Doty was a vetran of the Civil War, serving in Company C 12th Kansas Volinteer Infantry. Soon after the close of the war he united with the church Brethern in Christ to which re remained faithful to the end. His life was filled with good deeds, the many kind words and acts of love and sympathy proved his faith and won him friends wherever he went. He truely was one who did "Live at peace with all men" never having any family or newghborhood troubles, and his last words were "I am ready". He was loved by all who knew him and will be sadly missed by a host of sorrowing relatives and friends. Beside the 7 children he is survived by one sister, 22 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren. His wife preceded him some twenty-four years prior. She was laid to rest in the Macyville Cemetery. Mr. Dotys funeral services were conducted by Prof Gosimer at the Adventist church at the home of Mr. Mrs. C. E. Beers.
