Rita Carabajal, 95 of Yuma, passed away at her home June 23, 2009. Rita was born May 22, 1914 in Yuma. Rita was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great-grandmother.

Rita is survived by her children; Tony (Alice) Carbajal of Tucson, Clyde (Frances) Carabajal, James (Victoria) Carbajal, Bobby (Claudia) Carbajal, Ronald Carbajal, Olivia (Rick) Hernandez, and Lorraine Carbajal, all of Yuma. Sisters Frances Higuera and Olivia Rico. Fifteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren. Rita was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Carabajal, parents Rita and Andres Ruiz, brothers Ismael Ruiz, Andy Ruiz; sisters Mary Chavez and Adelina Abril.

Wake will be from 5-8 pm Sunday, June 28, 2009 at Funeraria del Angel, with rosary at 7 pm. Mass will be Monday, June 29, 2009, 10 am at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Burial will follow at Desert Lawn Memorial Park.

Pallbearers will be: Richard Carabajal, Jimmy Carbajal, Jeff Carbajal, Kyle Carbajal, Christopher Carbajal, Daniel Garcia, Joseph Miranda, and Jordon Echandia. Honorary pallbearers will be: Tony Carbajal, Clyde Carabajal, James Carbajal, Bobby Carbajal, Ron Carbajal, Rick Hernandez, Jesse Noriega, John Chretin, and Andy Ruiz.
