Wife of William Turner.

Daughter of David and Sina (Taylor) Dean.

Wayne County Outlook
23 Apr 1931

Mrs. Elizabeth Turner, born October 25, 1835, died April 6, 1931.

On account of her advanced age, she had been an invalid for more than a year, but a short time ago she contracted a cold that resulted in her death.

"Aunt Liz" as she was called by everyone, was the daughter of David and Sena Dean, and was the third eldest of a family of twelve children, of whom only one survives her, Mrs. A.J. Harris of Parnell, Ky., who was at her bedside at the time of her death. Her husband, William Turner, preceded her in death several years ago, and since they had no children, Mrs. Harris was her nearest living relative.

She died at the home of Pierce Turner, where she had been for some time, and everything was done for her that was possible, but all to no avail, as death can not be evaded.

Only a few days before she was stricken, she asked one of her grand nieces to help her sing the song, "In a Land Where We'll Never Grow Old" and said that in the near future she would be in that blissful land.

Since her mind was normal to the last, we have every reason to believe, that though death was winner for her earthly existence, yet a crown of victory will be hers in eternity, that in the resurrection we will see her again, but not in the form we last saw her; infirm and palsied with age, and one that was finally enshrouded in a coffin and laid in the tomb.

But when we see her again, we shall behold a glorified body that is not subject to disease and death; a body that will remain unchanged through the ceaseless ages of eternity, and will, in the language of the song she loved "Never Grow Old."

Words fail to express how we miss her, but we have a consolation in feeling assured that our loss is an addition to the redeemed multitude, in which we hope to be numbered some time, and never part any more.

She was laid to rest in the Parnell Cemetery.
