John Henry Taylor, Jr., with many other Rocky Springs Presbyterian Church members of Laurens County, SC, migrated to Franklin County, Alabama in 1883. The men left by wagon train, built log cabins and settled the wilderness that became Belgreen, Franklin County, Alabama. Later, the wives and families came by train. Once established, the Belgreen settlement founded the Mountain Home Presbyterian Church in the area. Many of the original Rocky Springs founders are buried there. Other family names from Rocky Springs include Bell, Entrekin , Glasgow, McDowell, Sloan, Sumerel and Todd. One of the first and oldest families into the Belgreen area was the Hargett family from Asheville - Charlotte, NC. area.
