FLOYD "JUNIOR" CAMPBELL
Floyd W. Campbell, Jr., 87, of Mexico, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at Audrain Medical Center.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Arnold Funeral Home. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday from 10 a.m. until noon at the funeral home.
Junior was born in Martinsburg on March 18, 1922, the son of Floyd W. Campbell, Sr. and Edna Irene Dillion.
He married his wife of 60 years, Lena Bell Stringer on January 15, 1949 in Mexico, she survives at the home.
Mr. Campbell served in the U.S. Army from 1941 to 1947. He worked for Pearl Motor Company. He loved camping, bluegrass music, going to Texas for the winter, tinkering with campers, and hunting.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Glenn W. Campbell and wife Mickey of Branson; three daughters, Gladys "Susie" Stewart and husband Robert of Mexico, Betty Irene Kliethermes and husband Robert of Jefferson City, and Margaret Sue Colbert and husband Donald of Perry; one sister, Margaret McCurdy and husband Ed of Wellsville; 15 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Herman Alvin Campbell; and three sisters, Wesley Irene Davidson, Mae Bell Eskew, and Mildred Lucille Thurman.
