Dorothy Frances Lawson Lucas, 83, of Pulaski, VA died late Wednesday night, August 5, 2009 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born on September 16, 1925 in Radford, VA and was the daughter of the late James Lawson and Dora Belle Shepard Lawson. Mrs. Lucas was a retired LPN with Home Health Care and a member of the Bobwhite Blvd. Church of God. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Porter Charles Lucas. Surviving are daughter and son-in-law Beverly & Joseph Nester; sons and daughter-in-law Terry Lucas, Larry & Ann Lucas, sister Marcella Cornwell; brother Fred Lawson, 7 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and special friend Donna Camper. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 11:00 AM from Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Phillip Martin officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Dublin. Visiting will be Friday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials be made to the Wilderness Road Museum, Newbern, VA. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, VA.
