SLAVEN, WARD W. Mrs – died at her home here on Thursday, August 3, following an extended illness. She was a good woman, a member of the First Baptist church, and had a large number of friends. Survivors include her husband, WARD W. SLAVEN, of Oneida; two sons, ARTHUR H. of Erlanger, Ky., and ARVILLE LEE of Ludlow, Ky., four daughters, Mrs. CARL SLAVEN of Oneida, Mrs. CLARENCE HILL of Knoxville, Mrs. ODA THOMPSON and Mrs. BLAINE CLABORN of Oneida; two sisters, Mrs. SAMPSON ROSS of Oneida and Mrs. MAYNARD TERRY of Cooperative, Ky., one brother, QUINCEY SLAVEN of Muncie, Ind., and a number of relatives. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist church on Sunday, Aug. 6, with Revs. LELAND THOMAS and ROY BLEVINS officiating. Interment was in the Marcum cemetery with Coopers in charge.
