On December 26, 1869, Addison aka Atlas, married Rachel Covington of Richmond County NC. She was the daughter of Martha "Mattie" Bennett and Henry Hampton Covington, Jr., and stepdaughter of her mother's 2nd husband, James Hampton Covington (her father's brother).
Addison and Rachel were living and working on his father's farm in the 1870 US Federal Census.
Rachel died sometime before the 1880 census as Addison is enumerated as widowed. Atlas was living in the household of his first cousin 1x removed, William W. Gibson (1849-1922), in Williamson, Richmond County (now Scotland County) NC. His occupation was teacher.
By 1900, Addison had moved to Meridian, Lauderdale County, Mississippi, and was working as a general merchant. He was widowed and living alone.
In 1910, he was in Scooba, Kemper County, Mississippi, in a boarding house and working in retail dry goods.
Atlas Terry died at age 70 in Kemper County. His tombstone reads A. T. Terry.
