Mr. Vernon Lorenzo ``Bo'' Kearns, Jr., 58, of 2831 Kenhill Drive, Charlotte, died January 2, 1999 at his home.

Funeral is 2 PM Wednesday, January 6, 1999 at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with Dr. Vernon M. Worthy officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Visitation is 1 PM Wednesday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.

Born in Mecklenburg County, NC, he was a painter for Pneumanfil Corporation for 33 years. Mr. Kearns was a member of Mt . Vernon Baptist Church for nine years, member of the Men's Choir and active in the Sunday School. He was a former long time member of Mt. Olive Presbyterian Church where he was a Chairman of the Deacon's Board and Church Treasurer.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Johnnie Mae Redfearn Kearns of Charlotte; a son, Kelvin Jerome Kearns (Emily) of Winston-Salem; 2 daughters, Ms. Paris Francescus Covington of Charlotte, Ms. Faith Potts of Stone Mountain, GA; 2 brothers, Robert Eugene Kearns of Mt . Vernon, NY, Lindsey Steele (Bland) of Belmont, NC; 2 sisters, Mrs. Isabel Franks of Mt. Vernon, NY, Mrs. Anna Virginia Withers (Lovie Lee) of Charlotte; 3 aunts, Mrs. Margaret Hogan, Ms. Zenobia Kearns, both of Charlotte, Mrs. Anna Christian of Chicago, IL; an uncle, John Sadler of Charlotte; father-in-law, Mr. Johnny Thomas Redfearn of Charlotte; 5 sisters-in-law, 7 brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
