George Ladner Gowen died on May 9, 1949
in the Worcester Memorial Hospital at Newburyport, after an extended period
of ill health.
He served in the Spanish/American War
in Company B; 8th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry.
He worked as chef at Newburyport Infirmary, and at Essex Sanitarium at Middleton, and Lakehurst in New Jersey.
Interment in Union Cemetery.
