Wellington Earing of Westford dropped dead in Westville Thursday morning after an attempt to assist his fallen horse to rise. Mr. Earing had driven to Westville on business and soon after entering town his horse tripped and fell. As he stepped from the wagon to help the animal to its feet, he was stricken with a heart attack and died immediately. Dr. Francis F. Harrison was called and acted as coroner's physician.
Mr. Earing was born in South Valley, February 21st, 1871, the son of Alfred and Mary(Rudd) Earing. He was married to Miss Ida Salisbury of Elk Creek in February 1895. A son Alfred and a daughter, Helen were born to this union. Mrs. Earing died in 1916.
In 1918 he married Mrs. Libbie Baldwin, who survives him, also his son Alfred; three sisters, Mrs. Fred Welden, Alveda and Ina Earing; one brother, Clarence earing, all of Westford; seven grandchildren, three nephews and a niece, and seven step-children. His daughter, Mrs. Leland Allen died last summer.
The funeral services were held at the late home Sunday afternoon, the Rev. F.B. Dodd of the Methodist Church, officiating.
The bearers were George Skinner, John Lynes, Martin Pickard, and and F.G. Tyler. Interment was made in the family plot in the Westford Cemetery. His many friends extend their sympathy to the bereaved survivors.
