DEATH OF MRS. ENFIELD.

A Grandmother of Thirty-five Grandchildren Died Yesterday.

Mrs. Lavina Enfield died at the home of her son, Will Enfield, 425 Avenue C east, yesterday morning about two o'clock. She had been feeble for quite a while, but had only been bedfast since Wednesday.

The funeral was held this afternoon from the residence, Rev. H. N. Haas, of the Holiness church, officiating.

Mrs. Enfield was born in Johnston, Pa., August 19, 1837. She moved to Fulton Co., Ohio, with her sister in girlhood, and later was married to Eli Enfield in 1860, and moved to Kansas with their family in 1878. To this union were born seven children of whom six are living. The husband died November 22, 1914. She and her oldest son, Cyrus Enfield, lived together until March 14, last, when he passed away.

The children who survive her are: Mrs. Rocila Evans of Larned, Kans.; Mrs. Lizzie Devore, of Miami, Okla.; Will Enfield, Mrs. Ada Bennett and Mrs. Alice Crabb of this city, and Mr. Gideon Enfield of Rozel, Kans. The children were all at her bedside when she passed away except one son, Gideon Enfield, who was in Colorado at the time of her death. She had 23 grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.
