DAUGHTER of Lewis Flynn "Thomas" & Minnie Amanda (Ames) Owens
She graduated from Parsons High School in 1932 and attended one year at Parsons Jr. College. She was a third generation Parsonian.
SISTER to Billie Owens (1922-1923), Edward Ames Owens (1908-1993), Mandy (Owens) Franse (1911-1998) and Bennie George Owens.
WIFE of James Vernon "Jim" Schildgen. Married in 1944 in Oswego, Kansas.
ANNIVERSARY: September 19, 1944
Kitty had been employed at S.H. Kress & Co. (1933-40), Parsons Sun advertising (1940-41), M.K.T. Railroad operating department (1942-57), and Parsons State Hospital & Training Center business office (1958-65). In 1964, she and her husband opened Schildgen Photography and had the privilege of photographing many class pictures, weddings, reunions and other important events in the lives of families of Southeast Kansas.
As a cancer survivor, she was invited to lead the "I Care Walk" three times.
Kitty and Jim didn't have any children, but they had nieces & nephews to love like their own.
AUNT to 8: Mary Catherine, Peggy, Tom, Nancy, Jim, Fred, Mark and Gail.
GREAT AUNT to 17 Drew, Bryan, Nicole, Alison, Kellye, Scott, Todd, Denise, Diane, Cotter, Andy, Michael, Josh, Kirby Kristina, Ashlee, Mary Alice & Karen.
Survivors include 1 brother, Bennie George Owens and MANY nieces & nephews, and great nieces & nephews.
Kitty was Preceeded in death by her husband; brothers, Billie Owens & Edward Owens; sister, Mandy (Owens) Franse.

Kitty passed at Elm Haven East Nursing Home in Parsons, KS
She was cremated and ashes buried in cemetery next to her husband, Jim Schildgen.
