Obituary from Daily Heald dated Nov. 1, 1916:

"NICK AHERN DEAD"

"Nicholas Ahern, aged 42 years, a well known resident of this city, who has been in Meridian for some months, died in that city last night. The remains will be brought to this city tonight or tomorrow morning and the funeral will take place from the home of the deceased's father, Eugene Ahern, at 845 East Howard avenue tomorrow afternoon. Mr. Ahern leaves a number of friends in Biloxi, as well as in other cities and he is survived by a wife and son, besides his father, four brothers and two sisters. His sisters are Mrs. W. T. Brunsen, of Sepatobia, Miss., and Miss Anna Ahern of this city; his brothers are Dave, John, Eugene and George Ahern all residents of Biloxi. Friends of the family will be grieved to learn of the death of Mr. Ahern".

"NICHOLAS AHERN BURIED YESTERDAY"

"The funeral of Nicholas Ahern, aged 42 years, a native of Baton Rouge, LA., and resident of the city for the past twenty-five years, was held yesterday afternoon from the residence of deceased's father, Eugene Ahern, 845 East Howard avenue. Services were conducted under the auspices of the Church of the Nativity and interment was made in the Biloxi cemetery. A large number of the sorrowing friends and relatives of the deceased paid their last tribute to the memory of this well known man".
