Parents, George F. and Hannah (Milson) Duntley. Born, Jasper County, Ia., Oct. 28, 1883. Married, Ina M. Doyle, Sept. 6, 1905. Children: Lawrence, Marjorie, Myrtle, Mary (deceased). Educated, Elementary schools of Los Angeles City and Lancaster, Calif. Occupation: Cattleman, Oak Creek and Mojave Desert area, Kern County. He came to California in 1889 from Madera through the San Joaquin Valley to Lancaster and was engaged in stock raising in that area until 1910. In that year he purchased the Duntley Ranch on Oak Creek, Kern County, and has been engaged in stock raising and ranch development in Oak Creek, Mojave and Lancaster area since 1910. He has been active in the affairs of Eastern Kern County since 1910 and is the oldest cattleman in that part of the County, having been in the cattle business since 1905. He started an annual picnic for the Old Timers of Antelope Valley and since 1925 has sponsored the Old Timers of Antelope Valley Annual Picnic held at Lancaster. He was one of the organizers of the Antelope Valley Old Timers Association in 1934 and has served as Vice President of that organization since that time. Every four years at Duntley Ranch on Oak Creek he sponsors the Candidates Barbecue and since 1916 people from all parts of Kern County have attended these Barbecues. He is a member of the B.P.OE. No. 1625, Lancaster, and of the Mojave Exchange Club on whose Board of Directors he has served. In 1937j he was made an Honorary Member of the Tehachapi Exchange Club. He was a member of the Kern County Grand Jury in 1936. Recreation: Hunting. Address: Box 278, Mojave, Calif.; residence, Oak Creek, Kern County, Calif.
