After a lingering illness of several weeks, C. C. Morrison, early pioneer of Cooke County, died Nov. 13 at his home four miles, northeast of Gainesville, at which place he has resided for the past 31 years.

He was born near Athens, Tennessee, Jan. 19, 1845, living there until he was married Feb 3, 1875, then moving to Texas and settling near Gainesville where he has lived until his death.

He is survived by three sons and five daughters.
