My Great Aunt Hazel E. Burns was born in Armstrong Co. Pa. to parents John Francis Burns(1867-1945) and Jenny Westerman(1871-1935).
She was one of seven living siblings all born in Penssylvania: Edna Mae, Harry H., John Francis II, Matilda D.(Til), Mary Florence(Babe), Viola Bessie(Doll).
Hazel married Harold E. Wilson in Brooke County, West Virginia on 28 May 1917.
They would make their home in Armstrong County, Pa. where their children would be born: Betty Jane, John Francis and Paul Ellsworth, Edward, William.
Harold died young in 1926 leaving Hazel with three small children to raise, the youngest only 2 years old.
Hazel married Milo D. Shaw in Monroe,Michigan on 25 Aug 1950.
Hazel died at the age of 95 while living at Saint Andrew's Village in Indiana, Indiana County, Pa. She was buried on January 11, 1997 along side her husband Harold in Riverview Cemetery, Apollo, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania.
