Services were held Monday in the First ward chapel for Mrs. T. W. Stoddard, 78, who died Saturday following a lingering illness. She was the wife of T.W.Stoddard. Both are early pioneers of this section.

Opening musical number was by the Relief society chorus, "Sometime We'll Understand". The invocation was by W.E. Dawson. This was followed by a vocal solo sung by E.E. Hanson, "That Wonderful Mother of Mine". The first speaker was Carl B Stoddard of Preston, a nephew of the deceased. L.Y. Rigby was the second speaker. A vocal duet was then sung by Mr. and Mrs. Lester T. Thomson, "In the Garden". The concluding speaker was Hug a. Wright, former bishop of the Rexburg First ward. Brief remarks were also made by bishop Russell Flamm who conducted the service. The Benediction was by Waler B. Muir. Burial was in the Rexburg cemetery under the direction f the Flamm Mortuary

Mary ann Stuart Stoddard born at Wellsville, Utah, June 26, 1868. she came to Idaho in 1885 and was married to Thomas W Stoddard December 8, 1886, in the Salt lake temple.

Mr. Stoddard had been in Idaho since 1880. He came here with his father who started a sawmill at Beaver Canyon, near Spencer, with William Rigby. Mrs. Stoddard was always active in the LDS church.


She is survived by her husband, seven children, Dan Stoddard of Idaho Falls, Tom, William and Calvin Stoddard of Rexburg, Roy G Stoddard of Pocatello, Mrs Neils Peterson of St Anthony and Mrs. Eldon Hilton of Rexburg. One son, Seth Stoddard, died a year ago. She is also survived by 37 grand children and 28 great grand children.
