Willis and Clyde had at least five children: Annie Virginia Long (1910-1974, Mrs. Kennerly), Mary B. Long (c. 1912), William B. "Billie" Long (c. 1914) and Catherine Long (c. 1919/20) and George Long (d. 9 Jan. 1922, 5 months old). They were living in the city of Charlotte in 1920, and Clyde died there of complications of tuberculosis following childbirth in 1921.

Willis Moore Long, 69, of the Hemby Bridge community died early Monday morning at his home after declining health for the past two years.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at Sardis Baptist church conducted by Rev. Marvin Helms and Rev. C. C. Honeycutt. Burial was in Boger's Chapel cemetery in Cabarrus county.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Annie Wooten Long and by the following children by his first wife, the former Miss Clyde Boger who died in 1912; three daughters, Mrs. R. B. Kennerly and Mrs. E. T. Martin, both of Charlotte, Mrs. N. A. Archibald of Downey, Calif; three sons, W. B. Long of Concord, Charles B. Long of Charlotte, Rev. Willis Dewitt Long of La Grange, Ga.; one brother, John Henry Long of Midland; three sisters, Mrs. Grady Dorton of Mooresville, Mrs. Mina Hayes of Mineral Springs, Mrs. Eula Thompson of Concord and one step son, Robert Long of the home.
