Born July 7, 1927, in New Oxford, she was the daughter of the late Elmer and Jennetta Dillman.
Ellie, as she was affectionately known, graduated from Gettysburg High School and attended the Thompson Business College.
In the 1940's she worked as the secretary to the president of Gettysburg College. In the mid 1960's Ellie started her own business, the Rusty Naill, which specialized in calico and Pennsylvania Dutch gift items.
She was instrumental in the founding of the Hanover Dutch Days and worked tirelessly to promote tourism in the York County area. Ellie also worked to help victims of Parkinson's disease overcome their fears. She refereed girls basketball and volleyball, loved to play golf, and enjoyed music and visits to and from family and friends.
Her special love was spending summer at Fenwick Island, Delaware. She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Hanover.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Y. Naill, Jr., and is survived by her four children, Denise N. Piccola of Harrisburg, Kimberly Lord of Breckenridge, CO, Billie Matsen of Clinton Corners, NY, and Wyn Naill of Hanover; 10 grandchildren, Jason Piccola, Jenny Stratton, Marta Lonero, Drew Matsen, Kim Matsen, Kyle Lord, Madison Lord, Blake Lord, Kaitlyn Naill, and Mackenzie Naill; three greatgrandsons and her sister, Betty Feidler of Lancaster.
