Martin was a farmer in Buckhart Twp., up until 1906 when he and Em moved to Springfield. Martin died at his sons home in Springfield, Illinois.
To their union were born in Buckhart Twp., 7 children, Cora Emeline Baughman, Lillian Agnes Reimer, William Henry, Estella Jane Lefever, Ina May Deeren and twins, Raymond Oscar and Robert Martin Whitesell.

WHITESELL, MARTIN-Died at 5:45 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 3, 1922, at the residence of his son, Robert, 2165 South Tenth Street, Springfield. At the age of 80 years, 4 months, 6 days.
Funeral services will be held at the residence at 12:45 o'clock tomorrow and the remains will be taken to Grove City, where services will be held in the Grove City church at 2 o'clock, Rev. Charles Holyoke officiating. Burial in Grove City cemetery.
Surviving are his wife: three daughters, Mrs. John Baughman of Edinburg, Mrs. B. S. Lefever of Springfield, and Mrs. Arthur Deeren of Grove City; two sons, Ray and Robert; one sister, Mrs. Emma Barber of Bath, Pa.; eleven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
