SANFORD NEWTON ALLEN

Sanford Newton Allen was born October 12, 1858, and departed this life August 8, 1907. He was married to May Johnson January 17, 1880. To this union were born two sons, Roy of Russell, and Harvey, who resides at home.

He was converted in early manhood and united with the Christian church, remaining faithful to that body until 1883, when he became a member of the Cumberland church of LaGrange. He was elected Elder in 1898 and was a faithful christian, always abounding in the love of God. He was a devoted husband and father, loyal to his convictions and faithful to his God.

The funeral was held Saturday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. L. H. Wood, pastor of the United M. E. church, and the Woodman order of Russell. The sorrowing relatives have the sympathy of all in their bereavement.
