Arthur Milburn Baker was born on February 11, 1868 in a log cabin on a farm south of Lizton just off the old Danville-Lebanon Road. He was a son of David Samuel Baker (B:October 20, 1840; D: May 19, 1927) and Mary Elizabeth Leach
Baker (B: December 8, 1840; D. October 9, 1918).

Mary Elizabeth was born northeast of Lizton and was a school teacher, as was her father, Elias Leach. David Baker came to Indiana when he was 11 years old with his parents and 10 brothers and sisters. A family of 13, they were known as the "Baker's Dozen." Their father, Andrew Jackson Baker, died two years later, and David at the age of 13 had most of the responsibility of the large family. David
Baker married Mary Leach on April 27, 1867. They had one child, Arthur Milburn Baker.

Arthur Milburn Baker married Mary Elizabeth Ann May on July 2, 1892, in the old Methodist Church, or Montgomery Chapel, south of Lizton. The church burned in February, 1903.

Mary Elizabeth was born on February 26, 1873, and died on November 9, 1933. Arthur Baker died on July 7, 1944. Both are buried in the Knights of Pythias Cemetery at Lizton, as are Arthur's parents. (David Samuel Baker & Mary Elizabeth Leach).

Mary Elizabeth, known as Molly, and Arthur, lived northeast of Lizton. Seven children were born to them at that home. The children were: Alice Fern Baker, Horace Russell Baker, Naomi Jane Baker, Anna Pearl Baker, Ida Mae Baker,
Gertrude Estelle Baker and David Bruce Baker.

Lizton: Arthur Baker, age 76, son of David and Mary Baker, died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Floyd Lewis, in Indianapolis, last Thursday. He was born near Lizton and had lived here all his life. He married Mary May who preceded him in 1933. He leaves three daughters, Mrs. Alice Lewis of Indianapolis, Mrs. Walter Hines and Mrs. Anna Scott of Lizton, and one son, Bruce, of Dallas, Texas; several grandchildren. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the Christian church with the Rev. Richmond Blake of Rockville, in charge.
