History of Knox county 1882
SNIDER, CHRISTIAN E., Brown township, farmer, was born on the seventeenth day of June, 1840, in Richland county, Ohio. His father, Philip Snider, was a native of France. His mother, Mary Snider, was a native of Stark county, Ohio. In 1850 he came to this county with his parents, and located on the farm in Brown township now known as the Snider homestead. In 1864 he married Miss Ann Hall, daughter of James Y. and Lydia Hall. they located in Brown township and have since resided in the same township. At present they are living on Solomon Workman's farm. He ownes a half interest in the old Snider farm. They have six children-three sons and three daughters.

Christian Edward Snyder was born in Knox county Ohio June 17, 1840. He was married to Anna Hall when 22 years of age. Seven children were born to this couple. A little girl has passed away, the living are: Mrs. Mary Allen of Howard, Ohio; Miss Florence Snyder of Salt Lake, Utah; John F. Snyder of Alva, Oklahoma; Mrs. Clara Young of Vera, Illinois; C. J. Snyder of Pierceville, Kas.; and D. A. Snyder of Marionville, MO.
Mr. Snyder moved from Ohio to Garden City, Kas. Where his wife died on Dec. 22 1886.
He married a second time. Margaret A. Roby, became his wife, Nov. 04, 1896. They moved to Missouri, where they lived until 1900. Then on account of his health, they went back to Kansas, staying there until Dec. 1906. He came to his sons home where he died Jan. 03, 1907 he was 66 years, 6 months, and 16 days. He was a member of the Dunkard Church. Burial was Jan. 05, 1907 in the Odd Fellows cemetery.
