Birth: Oct. 18, 1850

Syddanmark, Denmark
Death: Nov. 12, 1933

On October 18, 1850, in the city of Willistufto, Denmark, a son was born to Carl Julius Lehn and Bodil Marie Hansen (Madsen) in Villestofte, PaarupOdense, Denmark. He was named Rasmus Hansen Lehn. He was the third son of four children: Louise Catherine Marie, Henrich August (Henry), and an older son whose name I don't have. A son born before Rasmus, who died at three days old was also named Rasmus Hansen.

It is not known when the spelling of our his name was changed. It's possible that the Danish pronunciation of Rasmus was the same as Rosmus. Perhaps it was changed to conform with the English pronunciation. The same may be true of Lehn and Lynn. In 1854, when Rosmus was four years old, they left their native land...(for more complete biography email me at

On Sunday, November 13, 1933, Rosmus passed away at the age of 83. He was survived by his wife, Weltha, six sons, one daughter, forty eight grandchildren, and thirty one great grandchildren.

Not sure if the correct Permelia Elzina is the one linked although the dates match the Family Group Record sheet that I have. Due to this bio I also have: "In the spring of 1883, they and several other families decided to try the Gila Valley again. They arrived at Pima, Arizona, and secured some land, farming in summer and freighting in winter. They stayed in Arizona for several years doing well. Two children, Charles Samuel, and Permelia Elzina (who died shortly after birth) were born here. Then Rosmus' wife's health began to fail and she steadily grew worse. Finally the doctor advised a change of climate and the decided to return to Utah. Their baby son, Sam, was then a year and a half old."
