Elna Carlsson Nilsson (75) was the daughter of Nils Carlsson and Bengta Mårtensdotter (Swedish immigrants for 8 years in Big Stone County, MN )
She married Nils Nilsson, son of Nils Larsson and Eljena Nilsson on June 6, 1887 in Tolänga, Sweden.
On March 23, 1891 they emigrated to the U.S. with their three young children, Johann, Anna and Otto, Nils' father, Nils Larsson and younger brother Per (Peter G.) Nelson.
The family settled in Big Stone County near Ortonville,MN where Elna's parents had settled. Nils purchased a farm in Big Stone County, MN as well as lots in the city of Ortonville. The family prospered in Minnesota and then decided to return to Sweden ten years later. They sold their properties in 1898 and 1899 and returned to Vollsjo,Sweden and farmed.
Elna and Nils had eleven children:
