Joseph Kennedy Dies At Family Home

S. Joseph Kennedy, aged 55 years, member of an early Marion county family, died yesterday morning in his home on the Locust avenue extension. He had not been well for several years but had kept active at his line of business, a dairy on the home farm, until a short while ago.

In the late weeks he had been growing worse steadily and it was realized by his family, that he could not survive long.

The deceased was a son of the late Michael and Mary A. Kennedy who resided in Mannington district for many years before coming to Fairmont. They have resided on the farm place on the Locust avenue extension for a long time. Mr. Kennedy was born in Mannington district. Mr. Kennedy was a man of splendid qualities and was deeply devoted to the home circle.

He leaves three sisters and four brothers, Miss Mary Cecelia Kennedy, at home; Mrs. W. F. Burke, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mrs. F. B. McCudden, of Ann Arbor, Mich.; D. P. Kennedy, Edward P. Kennedy, William M. Kennedy, local attorney and James J. Kennedy, all of Fairmont.

The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 9 o'clock with services in St. Peter's Catholic Church. Interment will be made in Holy Cross cemetery with Carpenter & Ford in charge.
