Samantha Alice Rose was the daughter of Lorenzo Rose and Mahalia Rose. She married Thomas Jefferson Goosey in 1886 and had 10 children: Nettie, Etta, Spicy, Noah, Arthur, Elsie, Ledger, Goble, Leatha and Cylvia Goosey.

Mrs. Alice Goosey, 65 years old, wife of Thomas Goosey died Wednesday morning at one o'clock, at that residence. Pater and Bender aves. Death was ensued by typhoid fever. Those surviving are the widower, four sons, Noah, Archie, Ledger and Goebel Goosey, six daughters, Mrs. Thomas Richardson, Mrs Jefferson Richardson, Mrs Luther Rose, Mrs Luther Murphey, Mrs. Thomas Coffe and Mrs. Buelin Rader, 27 grandchildren, two brothers, Elvin and John Rose, one sister Mrs. Jeff Sutiless. Mrs. Goosey was a member of the Christian science church of Kentucky. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday afternoon at the residence, with interment in Greenwood cemetery.
