N. K. Coblentz Passes Away In Union City.

After a two week's serious illness from complications, Nathan K. Coblentz, 72, died at 1:50 p. m. Wednesday at his home, 811 East Elm street, Union City. He had been in failing health for the last five years.

A lifetime resident of Union City and vicinity, Mr. Coblentz as born north of the city October 3, 1873, son of Norman Austin and Mary E. Sutton-Coblentz. He attended the school near his home and was married to Sylvia Cain at Sidney, Ohio, March 26, 1910. He followed the occupation of farming until five years ago when failing health compelled his retirement. Mr. Coblentz and family moved from the country to the Elm street address last November. He was a member of the Pleasant Valley Church of the Brethren.

Besides the wife, he leaves two daughters, Miss Marceille Coblentz, at home, and Mrs. Simon Rhoades, Union City, route one; six sons, Lonnie, of Lightsville; Raymond and Wayne Coblentz, Union City; Glen, at home; Robert, of Versailles, and Floyd, of Greenville, and eight grandchildren.

Also surviving are five brothers, Jesse and Charles Coblentz, of Union City; Harry, of Greenville; John, of Versailles, and N. A. Coblentz, of Portland, Oregon; and five sisters, Mrs. Ola Penrod, Versailles; Mrs. Martha Mock and Mrs. Lillie Midlam, both of Redkey; Mrs. Ava Hampshire, of Union City, and Mrs. Emma Cain, whose residence is in California.

Last rites will be held Saturday at 1:30 p. m. at the Union City Church of the Brethren, in charge of Rev. Raymond O. Shank of Covington, Ohio, assisted by Rev. D. G. Berkebile. Interment will be at New Lisbon.
