Nov 13, 1953 – Mrs Sarah Rowden Dies at Oxford

Mrs Sarah Rowden aged 75 died unexpectedly at her home at Oxford, Friday, November 6 following a heart attack. She was the widow of the late J. H. Rowden. Funeral services were conducted Monday afternoon in the Oxford Methodist Church by Rev. Y. D. Whitehurst of Paragould, assisted by Rev. D. G. Hindman of Melbourne. Burial was in the Oxford Cemetery. Surviving are five sons, Gregory of Evansville, Ind., Remmel and Dallas both of Oxford, Noble of Kansas City and Lindell of North Little; seven daughters, Mrs Claude Hames of Detroit, Mich., Mrs Amy Webb of Greenville, S. C., Mrs Owen Hames and Mrs Albert Campbell both of Franklin, Mrs Kenneth Green of Kansas City, Mrs John Cliff of Wenatchee, Wash., and Mrs Glen Cooper of Richland, Wash. Also surviving are five brothers, three sisters, 32 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Pall-bearers were: Zord Moss, Edison Dillard, Garland Morgan, Earl McVey, Roy Caruthers and Hayden Helm.
