Mrs. Dora Moore Gillette, wife of J.D. Gillette of this city, died at the home of the family on Grand avenue yesterday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock, following an illness of many months duration from internal cancer, being aged somewhat more than 50 years. Mrs. Gillette was bedfast for more than nine months from the dread malady and a visit to a hospital in Memphis several weeks ago disclosed the fact that recovery could not be hoped for. She leaves, in addition to the husband, a family of five sons, by name John, Clayborne, Clarence, Sam and Jack, two of whom are at home, also, two brothers and one sister. All these relatives are expected to arrive for the funeral, which will be held from the home tomorrow morning at ten o'clock, with the Rev. Throgmorton, the Methodist pastor, conducting the last rites. Interment will be in Maple cemetery, Mrs. Gillette was a woman of kindly nature, home loving and always ready with aid or sympathy for a neightbor or friend in need and she had many friends here who will deplore her passing. Two step-children also survive, these being Mrs. H.L. Burns of this city and Mrs. J.A. Paul of Paragould, Ark.
