Barbara F. Young, 56, Edwardsville-Pope Mills Road, died at 10:45 a.m. Monday in the intensive care unit of A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, Ogdensburg, where she had been a patient for the past 7 1/2 weeks. She died of respiratory failure due to a bacterial lung infection.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fox Funeral Home, Heuvelton, with the Rev. William Masters officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg.
Surviving are her husband, Lafayette; three sons, four daughters, 21 grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; her mother, her twin sister, and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Born May 27, 1938, in Ogdensburg, a daughter of John and Venice Lalonde Henry, she attended Lisbon and Ogdensburg schools.
She married Lafayette Young Nov. 24, 1956, in the First Congregational Church, Lisbon.
Mrs. Young was employed in the dietary department of the St. Lawrence Psychiatric Center, Ogdensburg, for five years and at United Helpers Cedars Nursing Home, also in Ogdensburg, for seven years. She and her mother later operated a general store in Edwardsville from 1976 to 1979.
She enjoyed flower gardening, fishing, craft work and country music.
