Durwood W. Turner, 65, of 419 Williams St., Geneva, formerly of Rensselaer Falls, died Monday at Greensville Memorial Hospital, Emporia, Va.
He and his wife, Dorothy, were traveling north from their winter home in Lakeland, Fla., when Mr. Turner was hospitalized.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Fox Funeral Home, Heuvelton, with the Rev. Roland Hart, pastor of St. Raphael's Church, Heuvelton, officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park, Ogdensburg.
Surviving besides his wife are two sons, a daughter, six grandchildren and several cousins.
Born Nov. 14, 1930, in the town of Macomb, son of H.G. "Bill" and Stella Crandall Turner, he graduated from Gouverneur High School in 1948 and married Dorothy Rayburn on Oct. 5, 1950, at St. Raphael's Church.
The couple resided in the Hammond area, later moving to Rensselaer Falls. Mr. Turner worked for Agway in Canton for 12 years and was transferred to Geneva Agway, where he worked for 26 years. He retired in 1990 as a retail coordinator.
He and his wife had wintered in Lakeland for six years.
Mr. Turner was a member of the Geneva Moose Lodge, Waterloo Sportsmen's Club, Irish Hill Hunting Club, Fine, and National Rifle Association.
