Mrs. Mary Elizabeth Delaney, 100, of Baring, died at 4:35 a.m. Sunday (June 24, 1979) in Knox County Nursing Home in Edina, where she had been a resident since Feb. 22, 1972.
Mrs. Delaney was born Dec. 29, 1978, in Piqua, Ohio, a daughter of Nicholas and Catherine Elizabeth Rockford Fink. She moved to Missouri with her family at the age of four. She married Joseph Delaney, Fe4b. 19, 1901. He died Oct. 22, 1952. She was a member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Altar Society and Friendship Corner Club in Baring.
Surviving are five sons, W.N., Claud, Maurice Tom, and Raymond, all of Baring and Virgil of Brashear; seven daughters, Mrs. Leo (Marie) Ludden of Kirksville, Miss Frances Delaney and Mrs. Paul (Edna) Witherow, both of Baring, Mrs. William (Loretta) Timmermeyer and Mrs. Jack (Marjorie) Helling, both of Fort Madison, Iowa, Mrs. Bert (Eileen) Wiggenjost of West Point, Iowa, and Mrs. Leo (Esther) Crawford of Edina; 34 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, a daughter, two brothers and two sisters.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Baring, conducted by the Rev. Bill Forst and Msgr. Charles H. Patterson. Burial will be in St. Aloysius Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina.
