"Mrs. Hattie Belle Dierdorff, 97, of 214 Forest Lawn Blvd. died at 3 am today at Community Memorial Hospital. She had been seriously ill for two weeks. Her husband Henry B. whom she had married on November 30, 1920, died in Columbus in January 1935. She returned to this city in 1944.

"Born in Marion on November 14, 1865, she was the daughter of Isaiah C. and Dorothy Hinamon, Jones. Her given name at birth was Harriett Belle Jones, so named in honor of her aunt/step-grandmother Harriet Carpenter Barks Jones. She was married to Byron E. Monnett in 1887, who died in Marion County in July 1915. A daughter Hazel died in November 1915. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter Harriet Ann (Mrs. Robert) Ludwig, formerly of Marion.

"Surviving her at the time of her death was her son, four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, all of whom knew her with great affection as "Memmy". Also survived by nieces and nephews." ~ Marion Star
