Beatrice R. "Honey" Peterson, 83, of 103 Parkview Rise Apartments, died at 7:15 a.m. Sunday in the intensive care unit at A. Barton Hepburn Hospital, where she had been a patient since Nov. 27.
A prayer service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Fox Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 11 a.m. in Notre Dame Church with the Rev. Ivan Boyea officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park.
She is survived by a son, four grandchildren, one great-grandchild; two sisters,a brother, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Two sisters, Amelia and Mae LaPlante, and two brothers, David and Vernon Day, died before her.
Born Jan. 25, 1908, in Ogdensburg, daughter of Edward and Cora Bushey Day, she attended Ogdensburg schools and married Herbert E. Peterson Sept. 16, 1926, in Notre Dame Church.
Following her marriage, she worked at the former silk mill in Ogdensburg and later at the former LaVigne's Laundry and Dry Cleaning business for five years. She also did domestic work for many years for area residents, including the Augsbury and DePue families.
Mrs. Peterson lived at 930 Ford St. until moving to Parkview Rise in 1984. Mr. Peterson died in 1987.
Mrs. Peterson was a communicant of Notre Dame Church.
