PINE PLAINS - Myrtle J Dillinger Snyder, died on Good Friday, April 9, 2004 at Northern Dutchess Hospital in Rhinebeck. She was born at Vassar Brothers Hospital on May 15,1930 to the late Alfred and Marie Dillinger. Myrtle was a graduate of the Seymour Smith School in Pine Plains and was a member of the Bangall Methodist Church. She married Russell Snyder Jr. on March 15, 1951.

A family statement reads: "She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and was a person who put everyone before herself. She was a strong person with a very big heart who would do anything for anyone. She was an avid Braves fan; she loved to play cards and spend time with her family."

Survivors include her loving husband, Russell Snyder Jr. of Pine Plains; two daughters and sons-in-law, Robert and Sandy Stapf of Millerton and Robert and Roxeanne Strope of
Concord N.C.; four grandchildren, Michelle Stapf of Windsor Locks, Conn., Robin Stapf of Pine Plains, Robert Stapf Jr. of Millerton and Kristofer Stapf, a U.S. Marine
stationed at Camp LeJeune, N.C; and three great-grand-children, Zachary, Adriana and Mackenzie Decker, all of Pine Plains. She is also survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Dana and Fred Finkle of Stanfordville and Jean and Les Funk of Pine Plains, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, William (Mike) and Janet Dillinger of Stanfordville and Charlie and Sis Dillinger of Pine Plains. Myrtle was predeceased by four sisters, Marie Chadwell, Helen Schultz, Lucia Hawks and Mema Goyke, and one brother, Alfred Dillinger Jr.

Funeral services were on Wednesday at the Peck Funeral Home. Burial followed in the family plot in Stanfordville Cemetery, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pine Plains Rescue Squad. Arrangements were under the care of the Peck and Peck Funeral Home, Main Street, Pine Plains.
