She was a member of the sorority Alpha Xi Delta. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania on 16 June 1920, the same day she married Woolsey Hopkins Field. As Woolsey's wife, she lived in Caracas, Venzuela and Havana, Cuba. She was named for her mother's sister, Estelle Grace Reed, who as it turned out later was Woolsey's first wife.
