Since Aaron died at the Siege of Petersburg, and his body was never recovered, he is not actually buried at Center Methodist Church Cemetery. A military headstone was placed for him by his descendants over 100 years later. However, Aaron was not a member of Center Methodist Church. He was actually a member of New Bethel Baptist in Oconee County. Aaron's name appears in the mid-1800's handwritten minutes of New Bethel Church (currently known as Bethel Baptist Church, 160 Bethel Baptist Church Rd., Westminster 29693). Aaron's mother is interred at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery.
