Vergil E. Bowman born July 6, 1913, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2009. He was born to Ralph and Ethel Bowman in Ammon, Idaho. At time of passing, he was 95. He was retired from Paul Mueller Company and served in the Army Air Corp as a tail gunner in World War II; he received two Distinguished Flying Crosses during his time in service. He was also a long time Mason. Preceding him in death was his parents; two sisters, Avis Maddox, Lois Bowman; and brother Richard (Dick) Bowman. Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Lorene; daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Bob Wilkerson of Springfield; brother, Bill Bowman of Springfield; sister-in-law, Mary Mitchell and husband Warren of Bolivar; nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by friends and family and will always be remember as a very strong and proud man. We want to Thank Community Hospice of America-Southwest Missouri for their wonderful care and concerns, especially James Sanders, Katy Wilson and Kayla Allie. Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 6, 2009, in Greenlawn Cemetery.
