Anne Milia, 78, County Route 6, died Monday at St. Joseph's Hospital Health Center, Syracuse.
Mrs. Milia was a telephone operator for 15 years, and then she and her husband owned and operated Milia Shoe Store.
Born Jan. 20, 1930, in Ogdensburg, daughter of Frank and Eva Madlin Burns, she graduated from St. Mary's Academy in 1948.
She married Placido Milia on July 4, 1953, at St. Mary's Cathedral with the Rev. Anthony A. Milia , brother of the bridegroom, officiating.
She was a communicant of Notre Dame Church, a past member of the Zonta Club and a member of Claxton-Hepburn Medical Center Auxiliary and was active with Ogdensburg Command Performances.
She enjoyed reading, golf, refinishing furniture and cooking.
Surviving besides her husband are a son and his wife, a daughter and her husband, four grandchildren, a stepgrandson and many nieces and nephews.
A brother, Daniel Burns, died in infancy. Five sisters, Helen Holzhausen, Claire Burns, Barbara O'Shaughnessy, Ruth Burns and Frances Briggs, also died before her.
A funeral Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Friday at Notre Dame Church with her brother-in-law, Monsignor Milia, officiating. Burial will be in Foxwood Memorial Park. Calling hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Frary Funeral Home. Donations may be made to the Notre Dame Heritage Fund or the Richard E. Winter Cancer Treatment Center.
