Wife of Isom Adcock. Daughter of Daniel Kelsey and Martha Hall

Chariton, Iowa
Thursday, April 3, 1913

Miss Didema Kelsey was born in Putnam county, Indiana, on January 28th 1843, and died March 28th, 1913, aged seventy years, one month and twenty-nine days.

She was married to Isom Adcock in Corydon, Wayne county, Iowa, on February 24th, 1859. To this union were born twelve children, six boys and six girls, four of whom have preceded her to the better world, two boys and two girls.

Those still living to mourn their loss are: Mrs. Jennie Chambers, of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Mrs. Eva Jones, of Osceola; Mrs. Rettie Esshom, Mrs. Rosa Foutch, John and Oliver Adcock, of Chariton; and Elmer and Delmar, of Melrose.

She united with the United Brethren church when she was sixteen years old and has lived a consistent Christian life ever since, she being a charter member of the United Brethren church of Chariton.

Her home has always been a home of prayer and her ministers have always found it a place of rest and welcome. She died in the triumphs of living faith in Christ, her Savior, leaving evidence behind that she is now at home with her dear ones and with Him, whom she served so faithfully while here on earth.

Her husband, now declining in years, having been a faithful companion and a true soldier during the dark days of the rebellion, still survives her, and while he is lonely, he can be cheered that he has a companion in heaven awaiting his coming. He, with a host of friends mourn her loss.

Funeral services were held at the U. B. church on Sunday at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. W. L. Scull, assisted by Rev. N. F. Hicks, after which interment took place in the Chariton cemetery.
