Memorial services were held Oct. 9 at the Braun Funeral home for Lucy Doggett. Rev. Wm. Allison officiated. Mrs.
Earl Barnes sang "Asleep in Jesus" and "I Can See the Light of Home" accompanied by Mr. Barnes. Bearers were Robert Eddy, Robert Kirk, Jack Dronen, Nile Saunders, Herb Goehner and John F. Goehner. Interment was in the Cashmere Cemetery.
Braun Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Grandma Doggett as she was lovingly called by her friends, was a pioneer of Central Washington. She was born in Kentucky Oct. 1874 and later moved to Missouri, where she attended teachers college. After coming to Washington in 1904, she taught in the Farmer area.
On Sept. 23, 1906, she married Walter Doggett at Waterville. They homesteaded in Moses Coulee until 1924 when they moved to Cashmere. Mr. Doggett died in 1958.
Mrs. Doggett loved to embroidery and was very generous in giving it as gifts. Many friends treasure the pieces she has given them.
Survivors are her children, Mrs. Neil Nelson and Bill Doggett, both of Cashmere, Mrs. Lou Conley of Seattle, Pearl Hemley of Mountain View, and Claude Doggett of Long Beach, 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
