He was a Glider pilot for the Air Force, 439th Troop Carrier Group, 93rd Squadron. A 1941 graduate of Notre Dame, he earned his law degree in 1949 from Georgetown University in Washington, D.C. He worked for the U.S. Office of Naval Research from October 29, 1951 until November 14, 1980.
Survivors include his two daughters, Claudine Reidy-Gamster of Illinois and Christine Reidy DeWald of Virginia; grandchildren, Anthony Caruso-Gamster and Zachery Gamster.
He was preceded in death by children, David Leo Reidy, Jr. and Carla Jean Reidy.
Graveside services conducted with full military honors on Tuesday, June 10, 2008.
