William Harrison "Billy" Myers

Major League Baseball Player. He played for two teams during his seven years in the majors. Myers played shortstop for the Cincinnati Reds from 1935 to 1940, and finished up with the Chicago Cubs in 1941. His career batting average was .257 and he hit 45 home runs and 243 runs batted in. He received some votes in consideration for National League Most Valuable Player in 1937 and 1939, and played in the World Series in 1939 and 1940. Myers was inducted into the Reds Hall of Fame in 1966. (bio by: Mel Bashore)
